Encourage

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. - 1 Thessalonians 5:11

This week I am picking 5 people to encourage. I challenge you to do the same.

You know when you are reading the Bible and it feels like certain verses were written just for you at this time?

The key is not education but obedience. As we act on what we read the Holy Book “comes alive.” and we begin to hear and understand the voice of God. However, if we have not obeyed what He’s previously revealed to us, why would He give us His deeper truths? - InTouch

I love finding a song that completely describes how I am feeling right now. Thanks to my husband for showing me this song.

THE AFTERS – Never Going Back To OK

It’s not the end but it feels like it is
I’m waking up like I’m back from the dead
I’m stepping out and it feels so free
But as long as I’m moving it’s alright

I feel alive and it hurts for a change
I’m looking back its hard to believe
That I was cool with the days that I wasted
Complacent and tasteless and bored
But that was yesterday

We’re never going back to ok
We’re never going back to easy
We’re never going back to the way it was
We’re never going back to ok

This discontent, like a slap in the face
A mediocre I’ve had enough of this place
This party’s over and I’m moving away
From the frills of your Beverly Hills
That was yesterday

We’re never going back to ok
We’re never going back to easy
We’re never going back to the way it was
We’re never going back to ok

We’re here to stay
This is our time
My only life
Our chance to live

faithfulness

Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones. - Luke 16:10

I like to be able to see my next 10 steps in life. Right now God is only showing me one step. It is like He is saying, I need you to trust me in this before I give you more. I know what I need to do, now the question is -am I willing to do it?

You’re overwhelmed.  You’re searching for answers - the right, perfect, easy answers. The tough love: big business isn’t easy. Nothing great is supposed to be. If it was, how would we grow?   How would we realize our full potential if we weren’t stretched and challenged?  You were made to move: dance, leap, sing, love, shoot, make, hug it out, paint, create, write, shake it, build it and use all you’ve got!  You were not put on this earth to hide behind your computer and wait for opportunity.  You were made to CREATE it.  In life and business, you have to invest to make things happen.  The timing will never be perfect.  I repeat: the timing will never be perfect.  Do not keep going on the path you are on if you know it’s wrong.  This is the only life you get.  This moment is all you really KNOW you have.  Deep down, you know that.  You have everything you need right now to do what’s on your heart.  Why live in fear of what other people think?  The bigger question:  How many people are missing out on what you have to give them by you waiting? What’s going to be different tomorrow?  You are going to make mistakes.  Loads of them.  But, remember: there are no mistakes, only lessons.  It’s your choice… stay stuck OR get a move on.   The kicker:  your reward for feeling the fear and doing it anyway is the unmistakable joy of living your life instead of renting it.  That is worth leaping for.

From Making Things Happen

When Jesus told Peter to throw his net into the water with the purpose of catching fish (Luke 5:1-11), he could have said no. He could have but he didn’t. And it’s a good thing too because he would have missed the biggest opportunity of his life.

Are we missing opportunities because we aren’t willing to do the small things God asks of us? What do you need to do today to obey God, to make something happen?

I have read that to name your fears is to DESTROY them. So I want to share them with you.

my fears:

* people seeing my failures

* not living my life to the extent that God wants me to

* not taking enough risks

* living a boring life

For GOD has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline. - 1 Timothy 2:17

In the message at church this morning the pastor {my dad :)} read the story of Jesus and Peter walking on the water (Matthew 14:22-33). He said that we never want to leave the boat, the boat is our comfort zone, but God has so much more in store for us if we would just step out the boat. I am ready to step out, how about you?

GOD can do anything, you know -far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. - Ephesians 3:20
